The scientist that I admire is Linus Pauling (I already talked about him
in the oral exposition). Pauling was born in Oregon on 28th February, 1901 and
he died on 19th August, 1994 He was a scientist and some of the paper that he published
are in the fields of the nature of the chemical bond and the resonance phenomenon.
He received the Nobel prize in chemistry
for his great work and contribution to the science on 1954. Also Pauling was a
peace activist, with Albert Einstein he was part of the Committee of Atomic Scientists.
He called for an end to stop nuclear testing and the end of the war itself, and
for his peace activism he received the Peace Nobel prize in 1963. Basically I
like him because I think that he is an example that the people can do many
things to help the humanity, not only in one field. He represents the scientist
and humanist part and I like that harmony.
